I call customer service after finally activating it my balance says zero they tell me that they cant find my card number then they tell me I have to register it I told him Ill do it again with him on with me do it again once again it say zero on my card I get transferred to a new person they tell me my card is not registered then it is but my name is not on the account it is someone elses name I ask what is the name they tell we cant tell you now I have to wait 5 business days after sending my receipt and a pic of the card to see if I can get my money back bottom line ppl dont ever ever get the Walmart money card ever!!!

So I received a fraud alert text that asked me if I made a $200 purchase, to which I replied No. I immediately received another text saying my account has been locked and to call the customer service number to have my account unlocked.
So I did. First time I called I explained the text I got and that I did not make the purchase, of course I couldn't speak to anyone that I could actually understand, because that would be too easy! Directly after I stopped talking, the specialist placed me on hold for a couple of minutes!?! Yeah right!
I was on hold for 45 minutes and nothing the whole time, just their *** music! So I hung up and called back a second time and was put on hold for an hour and 45 minutes, FINALLY someone answered, so I Reexplained the whole situation for the new specialist which spoke a little better English but not much. I asked her a few questions, and she explained to me, I needed my card replaced, which I assumed they would do. (not my first rodeo with a fraudulent charge and Walmart money card) the lady then explains I would get my new card in 7-10 business days!
UM WHAT??!? Oh *** no! This account is my ONLY account. ALL my bills come out of this account, my payroll is direct deposited, cash from the atm, purchases everything comes from this account.
I have no other account. I told her that *** wasn't going to work, that I needed access to my money/account immediately. So I had to have my card expedited. Which will still take 3 business days.
So until then I have no money! I have had a Walmart money card for a long time, only had a problem one other time about 5 years ago, and I had a new card in 2 days.
I'm not sure what happened to Walmart money card, or green dot or whatever the *** they are calling themselves, but I am completely done with them this time! As soon as my new card arrives, I am withdrawing ALL my money and going somewhere else.

On 11/20/23 at approximately between 9:30am and 10am I brought back a tool set that had 6 Hart tools, 1 impact, 1 drill, 1 sawsaw, 1 sander, 1 skillsaw, and 1 flashlight, and 2 batteries and charger that was priced at 312.90. I brought it back bc the batteries was no good.
I was given a walmart gift card by the guy that was running the service desk. I had then went home to get some breakfast and start my day. But as I called the Gift card then pin that was on the card was inactive. I tires several times with no luck of my money being on there.
So I then went back to walmart to see if they could help me. I asked for help he ran the Gift card and it also said Inactive on the second receipt. He then went and made a a call to a higher rank employee to only come back and hand me the phone to be told that an email has been sent to me to file the complaint and send my proof of pics of receipt and to leave the gift card with the current employee so i did. Hours later, I made contact with walmart gift card complaint number to see if they had gotten it taken care of the situation at the very end of the day, but my luck, no good news came to me.
And was told to respond to the same email I got before with the same evidence I had pics of. So I did it again bc the opperator on line said that the money went to another account. And I would hear from them within 48 hours with some news of what they can or cannot do. I am thinking that one of the employees got my money and my tools back to walmart.
I need help please to get this solved. That money I worked for to feed my family and get to work.

3 weeks ago I called to close my account because the card they had sent me would not activate the codes that I was supposed to be sent from the automated system was never sent I tried multiple times. Their system would not allow me to get into my account they said my account password or username was incorrect it would not even tell me which one.
A customer service representative told me she was closing my account and mailing me a check and that I should expect to receive it by December 28th which I thought was quite a long time considering they had my money and I wanted it. The postal system is not that slow but I waited patiently until December 28th when it still was not in my mailbox. Due to the holidays I was not able to contact anyone until Tuesday the day after New Year's Day. This is when I was told the account was never closed they'll be happy to do it today and will be waiting 3 weeks for a check again I am promised that I will be receiving a check.
In order to have a very merry Christmas I extended my credit farther than I guess I should have because my credit rating is going down now.
I also have those that are still coming due and no money for three more weeks. There are no people only computers and automated systems it took me forever too find someone to speak to.
Do not trust Green Dot money Bank they steal your money I feel they are continuously gaining interest on the money that they have that belongs to me while they make me wait. Don't trust Green Dot money Bank!!!

I purchased two $500 "Money Cards" from Walmart Marysville, WA. Neither have been used, and are secured at home.
I wanted to give one to my son and his Family. However, I discovered this card had a negative balance of $15.91. Again, have not used either card. I began digging into how any of this happened and tried to talk to a Walmart Employee only to be referred to "Green Dot" the supplier/cash card contact.
I called a few times to get a "bot" (looped msg) with NO person involved. I followed the instructions, spending over 2hrs doing as I needed to have no results. So, met with the Walmart "Shift Manager" today. At least he made efforts, but admittedly said he tells customers NOT to buy the Walmart cash cards.
Online is equally bad in following the instructions. So far, not getting anything resolved. So, will pursue other options and follow up.
Am tired of the run around and Walmart employees have not formal training for these things. Why are they even selling the damn cards since there are ongoing problems?

Verified Reviewer |I have two $500 Money Cards which have NOT been used. I checked on one last night to discover it has a negative balance of $15.90. I have not used either card. Made phone calls lasting almost 2hrs
I checked the on-line option and called several times. All of which led to a "bot" a recorded message that kept repeating itself.
Not once did I reach a live person. Yet, they claim to have 24/7 service. All of which is a lie. I called again this morning with the same results.
It is all *** I got ripped off. What is worse, I took the time last night to meet with the "manager" at Wal-Mart to get help. No one had a clue in what to do.
No more...I will never tell anyone to trust Wal-Mart, it's employees are not trained in what to do if there is a problem, and the phone tree service is of no use. So, DO NOT USE A WAL-MART MONEY CARD!
